Lovely spacious room, comfy bed, quiet overlooking amazing river vews Story Bridge or Skywalk.
Outstanding riiver views from BEDROOM .... Quiet spacious Comfy bed and choice of pillows Hotel itself has excellent staff. Excellent Chef tasty fresh omelette.
Lost its old world elegance it was renown for. Yes it has gone with the market trends. Changed to Asian influence with decor to match. Smaller dining. On my night when I just wanted a simple snack to have with my heart medications then go to bed early as I wanted room service was extremely disappointing. Phoned just after 6.30 in an hour tea bags and long life milk came (in my order I wanted a pot of tea with "real" milk and a watermelon and feta salad not much else really you could order. Simple no cooking .Then another long wait eventually meal came close to 2 hrs later but a Caesar Salad with all this bacon NOT what I ordered. so exhausted I said to young man leave it. I ate the poached egg and 3 little toasts so I could have my medications. Lovely pot of tea with real milk I might add. Actually spoilt my much needed rest which was the purpose of my visit. Construction has caused a lot of frustations for customers and hotel. Long detour from Citycat to Hotel. GONE is the elegant magnificent high standard dining leading out to the elegant sprawlilng alfresco overlooking the river. Outstanding high teas, decadent chocolate high teas outstanding buffet breakfasts or seafood buffets. Service to match GONE. Very disappointing for us for enjoyed many years of high standard to what it is now.

The birthday treat for Mike which was provided on my request was really lovely and appreciated. Thank you. Lovely clean room and a big bed.

What was the highlight of Stamford Plaza Brisbane
An enjoyable stay in what has always been a lovely hotel .
Central , great rooms and bathroom . Lovely swimming pool.
When we have stayed there in the past there was a beautiful inside and outside dining area . This has been replaced with a ‘modern’ feel dining area with bar stools . It isn’t in keeping with the rest of the hotel which has always been very traditional .

A worker was in our room when we came back from shopping and we were told it was “because we didn’t have the do not disturb sign on the door”. Note that the other side of the do not disturb is “please make up our room”. We left the signs in the room and had nothing on the door. I felt extremely uncomfortable and honestly a bit shaken up after this. I have never experienced this anywhere I have stayed -this and the reasoning we received is unacceptable. We also had dinner at la Boca the first night and when we returned the second night for the complimentary drinks and taste of Argentina (which we had told the person serving us the night before we would) we were met with the massive staff party where we could see everyone was very visibly drunk and told we obviously weren’t aloud in. We were not informed of this even when telling the staff our plans the night before. We had a late dinner there the night before so we rushed ourselves to be out before closing. I feel we should have been informed the restaurant would be unavailable on the second night upon checking in so we could have planned to go earlier the first night and made the 5:30 complimentary taste of Argentina which we missed out on because of this. Really extremely disappointing considering it would have easily been an exceptional 10/10 stay but these instances really threw it off for us.
